CASTING NEWS: John Rhys-Davies to Guest Star

LegendSeeker.net has recently learned through a reliable source (THX K.B) that John Rhys-Davies will be guest starring in an upcoming episode of Legend of the Seeker. It appears that they are really trying to bring in moderate to heavy hitters from other television (and movie) worlds, which is great to see. First Ted Raimi, Amy Teegarden, Jolene Blalock, now John Rhys-Davies?
Next we’ll see Zachary Levi from Chuck make an appearance (that’s a joke) or maybe even Adrian Paul from Highlander: TV series (that’s only half a joke).
Anyways, you all may remember John from Lord of the Rings in which he played “Gimli” who was sort of the comic relief of that particular Scooby gang. Yes, I do mean the dwarf (points to the picture in the featured article rotation). He also starred in that TV show Sliders where he played “Professor Maximilian Arturo” and in one of the quintessential movies of the 80’s, Raiders of the Lost Ark where he played “Sallah”. This last one (Raiders) was one of my favorite memories as a kid and I always thought Sallah was kinda like the Han Solo of the Raider’s series of movies. Remember that damn monkey of his? That’s what you get for eating dates out of the bowl lil monkey!
Unfortunately no concrete details have yet been revealed on what the role he was cast in is all about, however if we find out more we will certainly add that information here.

In my humble opinion, it looks like he is probably cast as Kahlan’s father?? Frederic maybe?
Without getting in to too much of the books (I’m still only at the Blood of the Fold) isn’t her father dead? Didn’t he pass on everything he learned before he died? For some reason my brain is a little fuzzy on that issue LOL
Well, yes in the books, but in the show …. !!SPOILER ALERT!!
… in episode Bound ( or something similar), there is casting role for Frederic as Kahlan’s father (check it on spoliertv for more), so I just assume it is possibly that he would play it, but who knows , maybe not, we’ll see.
I think John will be cast as Kahlan’s father. However, many people believe he may be cast as Nathan. We will find out soon! John is a terrific actor.
Looks like he’s cast as Panis Rahl, and the guy who killed Zed’s father.
