About The Show: Legend of the Seeker

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Legend of the Seeker is a weekly American television series loosely based on The Sword of Truth novels by Terry Goodkind. Distributed in U.S. domestic syndication by Disney-ABC Domestic Television, ABC Studios is producing the series, which is in its first foray into broadcast syndication, with Sam Raimi, Robert Tapert, Joshua Donen, Ned Nalle and Kenneth Biller serving as executive producers. The show premiered on November 1, 2008.

The series follows the epic journey of a young woods guide named Richard Cypher (played by Craig Horner), a mysterious woman named Kahlan Amnell (played by Bridget Regan), and a wizard named Zeddicus Zu’l Zorander (played by Bruce Spence) to stop Darken Rahl (played by Craig Parker) from unleashing an ancient and terrifying power.

It has been renewed for a second season, which began airing on November 7, 2009. In 2009, the series won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series.

If you are a fan of books or television shows about magic, sorcery and the eternal struggle between go and evil then this is the show for you. It is based loosely on the Terry Goodkind books (I’d say about 75% of it is from Mr. Goodkind’s books).

Filmed in New Zealand, it has the action of the matrix (as well as some of the slow motion cinematography), the production appearances of Hercules and Xena and the sword fighting goodness of Lord of the Rings. On top of all that it has some of the most attractive women on television today! Yes Ladies, the lead male character is pretty ripped too!

You just can’t help but like this show!

UPDATE: During the running of this show there have also been several guest appearances. People like Jolene Blalock (of Star Trek: Enterprise fame), Aimee Teegarden (of Friday Night Lights fame), John Rhys-Davies (of Indiana Jones as well as Lord of the Rings) and many many others.

Legend of the Seeker has never really gotten a lot of advertising capital behind it but if there ever was a show that should be dubbed “The Little Show That Could” this would certainly be it!
