NEWS: Seeker Saturdays Continue with “Vengeance” (S2E17)

Daaaa daa daaaa daaaaaaaaa (Indiana Jones theme) Daaa daaa daaaa………… Ok, remember Indi’s funny Pirate type friend in Egypt? Seemed to be connected to everything and able to make people dig in the hot desert? Now, remember that funny looking, grumpy talking Dwarf in Lord of the Rings? Guess what? He’s gonna be in Legend of the Seeker this weekend!

John Rhys-Davies plays the role of a mysterious Stranger who reveals himself to Richard later as being Panis Rahl, his father. (For us Bookies, ignore this since we know the books are a little different here). Anyways, apparently Panis was responsible for Zedd’s father’s death and Zedd is plenty pissed off when he learns who Richard has been chuming around with.

NEWS: Seeker Saturdays Continue with “Creator” (S2E15)

It’s on… right now… no really… Starting at 1500 (3pm for the uninitiated) Eastern time (in most places).

Academy Award® nominee Keisha Castle-Hughes guest stars as a woman who believes she is the embodiment of the Creator him/herself. I’m not really sure that the creator is gonna go down to the planet and just appear out of nowhere but hey, you never know and why he/she would wait all this time before popping by is another question. Maybe these will be answered in today’s episode!

NEWS: Seeker Saturdays Continue with “Bound” (S2E14)

Been chomping at the bit waiting for a new Legend of the Seeker episode? Guess what?!? It’s here!! Finally!! After two weeks of repeats (blah) we are now about to get a new episode. There are no Olympics, daylight savings time has already come and gone so that shouldn’t affect ratings (too much anyways) and now we get a fresh episode to drool over.

From the previews, for the two people who might have missed them, we know that Darken Rahl and Sister Nicci (New Nicci, not Old Nicci), plot together in order to find a way to control the Seeker. Somehow Nicci ends up casting a “powerful spell” that binds her life energy to that of Kahlan. From a personal perspective, one could do a lot worse than be bound to either of these incredibly sexy women. They aren’t Cara but it’s a damn close second place!

In short, if Nicci gets hurt or killed then Kahlan gets hurt or killed. Richard is forced to protect Nicci in order to keep Kahlan alive.

Sidebar: Ok, once again, I have to say this; Richard handles more woman than Ron Jeremy (and maybe Gene Simmons too)

Does anyone else think that Nicci can hold a little bit of a grudge? What about Darken Rahl? I LOVE Craig Parker as an actor and his character is great but it seems that ‘ol Darken is phoning it in from the Underworld

I digress….

We are over the mid-way point in this season (hopefully there will be more) so whatever or whomever the Big Bad is (Spike from Buffy reference goes here) it should start to become evident within the next couple of episodes.

Sit back, pour yourself a glass of (insert beverage of choice here) and get ready to rock and roll!! Don’t forget to tell your friends as well as roping your family members in to it and even coworkers if you must. Let’s push those ratings up there again now that we are done with the repeats for a bit!

NEWS: Seeker Saturdays Continue with “Princess” (S2E13)

Well the Olympics are just about done and Canada is on it’s way to Gold for Men’s Hockey. Ok, they still have to get by a couple of teams, but I sent them a memo on it. Anyways, as I said the Olympics are almost over and guess what, we haven’t had a single repeat of Legend of the Seeker during that time. Yaaay. Tonight is another new episode entitled “Princess”.

It looks to be another fairly Cara-centric episode as she is one of the key plays in a plot to rescue the Mother Confessor from the clutches of certain doom. On a side note we get to see what Cara is like all dressed up on as a lady and not running around kicking ass in her red leather mord-sith outfit. I’m willing to bet that the extreme contrast to her regular character will be exceptionally sexy!

For you ladies out there; it looks like Richard went to the salon and got himself blond-ified. I’m not throwing stones here, not by any means (have you seen his abs?), but I think Craig Horner should stay away from blond like it was the plague itself (I’m at that part in the book Temple of the Winds LOL).

PLOT SUMMARY

Kahlan somehow get’s herself kidnapped by a Royal figure from another Kingdom and it’s up to Zedd and Cara to infiltrate the Royal Palace and rescue her.

Zedd disguises himself as a woman. Ummm Zedd, how many 6′7 woman do you see walking around with manly features? This ain’t no Deuce Bigalow.

Cara must become that which she is not, a much sought after princess, and use her womanly charms to get the information that is needed. If you look at the pictures Tabrett Bethell is stunningly beautiful when she is all dolled up. We’re used to seeing her as a sexy vixen but I have to tell you, she looks every bit the part of a high class lady!

Meanwhile, the Sisters of the Dark are back!! It appears that the royal personage, mentioned but a moment ago, has made a deal with these lovely yet sinister ladies. Could it be that the prophecy about the Mother Confessor’s heart continuing to beat is about to come to an end? Do the Sisters of the Dark have nefarious plans for Kahlan? Tonight we find out!

Side bar: There is a woman named Drucilla in this episode. Is it me or does that instantly make you flash back to Buffy the Vampire Slayer days?!?? Anyone with the name Drucilla is going to be evil, you know what I’m talkin about! If Spike pops up then that’s it, I’m paying for Season 3 my self LOL!

It also appears that the woman who plays the Sister of the Dark could very well be the woman that plays in Spartacus: Blood and Sand (can’t remember her name) but she is the bratty wife of Craig Parker’s character in that show. We’ll see if I’m right once we get some names to the faces!

NEWS: Seeker Saturdays Continue with “Hunger” (S2E12)

So you’ve watched your share of hockey (Go Canada!), you’ve watched your share of the Luge, Figure Skating, The Skeleton (think Luge but reversed), Bobsledding, Ski Jumping and Speed Skating (and a few dozen other things I guess). Now it’s time to settle in and get ready for another action packed episode of Legend of the Seeker. Legend of the Seeker returns with “Hunger”.

This episode is going to be sexy sexy!! Cara gets to visit the “No Undies World” and although I am sure Tabrett Bethell (Cara) is quite well screened from our viewing eyes we will still see more of her than we have in past episodes. Unfortunately, in order to do this she probably has to die.

SPOILER ALERT!

Cara does die and she travels to the Underworld where she must face off against her old master Darken Rahl. Master Rahl (Craig Parker) gives her the same offer he gives everyone else that’s in the show; “Serve the Keeper by killing lots of people and you can remain in the world of the living. Fail to kill, and kill often, and you shall begin an ugly ducking who needs mega moisturizer and the Keeper will reclaim your soul” (or something to this effect). Basically, she becomes a Baneling. Remember those people? The ones we know and love come back to visit us and then stop by for a little murder and mayhem on their way over?

So what does she do? She makes the deal! After all, in order to remain Richard’s (Craig Horner) protector she must continue to be able to be by his site. I’m sure that Kahlan Amnell (Bridget Regan) is overjoyed but we will see how it all plays out! Cara makes the deal and then goes on a killing spree when Richard isn’t looking. Whether she kills good people, bad people or indiscriminately has yet to be seen!

Another great thing about this weekend’s episode (and one I have been looking forward to) is the return of Ted Raimi. The guy is just that kind of actor who makes you laugh no matter how your day has gone and his characters are usually jovial, funny and extremely down on their luck (think Hercules: Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess). He has also been in Sea Quest but that was an eon ago it seems.

Zedd’s brother also makes a return appearance. It will be interesting to see the dynamic between the two again. They even look like grumbling miserable siblings and frankly, it is kind of refreshing to see that Zedd IS human after all. For those of us who are bookies you will know what I mean when I say this; sometimes Zedd seems far far far more powerful than he lets on and that can be a little daunting. Now he gets to have his brother complain at him and the two can grumble. What exactly is Zedd’s brother doing in this episode? I have no idea other than that he talks with Sebastian (Ted Raimi) about something and that he pulls a cart in what looks like quite the hurry.

NEWS: Seeker Saturdays Continue with “Torn” (S2E11)

As we get set to head into two weeks of Olympics games (go Canada!) we find ourselves also getting ready for yet another new episode of Legend of the Seeker (go ABC and Disney!!!). As you all know things are really starting to heat up between Kahlan and Richard and this week is sure to bring that temperature up a yet a few degrees more!

This week’s episode is called “Torn” and from the trailers that we have seen I am guessing it is Richard who is torn. Torn between his love for Kahlan (or lust as it could very well be) and their “Quest”. It also appears, from the teaser, that Kahlan could be with child, with Richard’s child. How big an OMG moment would that be?!?!?

SPOILER ALERT

From a recent interview with Bridget Regan, and from scuttlebutt going around the web, we have learned that there could very well be two Kahlan’s this episode. Whether it be mentally or physically we do not know but from what we gather it appears that Kahlan doesn’t remember her night with Richard at all! How crappy would that be?? You get to spend the night of your life with someone you have been lusting after since ohh almost day 1 only to wake up and go “Ummmm, so….. what happened last night?”

Very little is mentioned about the other characters in this episode so I gather that it will be more of a Richard / Kahlan-centric storyline which should please a great deal of you out there who are waiting for the next step in the evolution of the whole Rich-lan saga.

KFed, BrAngalina and now Rich-lan… yes… I did make that up… what do you mean it’s corny?!?!? kthxbye

NEWS: Seeker Saturdays Continue with “Perdition” (S2E10)

Another week has come and gone and your Seeker itch just hasn’t gone away. Well guess what, tonight an all new episode of Legend of the Seeker is on with “Perdition”. That’s right, another new episode. Enjoy it while you can because after tonight we have a week of reruns due to the Superbowl before coming back in the middle of February for the next new episodes to continue.

Jolene Blalock continues her role as Sister Nicci, Sister of the Dark, and her bid to control not only Richard but the entire Territories as well. Richard has just escaped the Palace of the Prophets with the help of Sister Nicci AND Sister Verna and is headed in a bee-line back to the New World. In order to get there he must cross the Valley of Perdition. He get’s trapped in the Valley and his friends must fight for his life before the desert destroys him. All the while his enemies get stronger and stronger!

For those who haven’t read the books I’ll give you a little back story.

WARNING: MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR BOOK INFORMATION THAT COULD SPOIL THIS WEEKS EPISODE.
IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW, DON’T READ!!!!

The Valley of Perdition is a large valley that separates the Old World from the New World. Back in the day, I mean waaaay back in the day, people used to be able to cross this valley without any trouble however a great war took place. A war of such magnitude that it forever changed the face of the world. Wizards from the Old World and Wizards from the New World fought for ultimate power. So many of them fought and so much magic was expended that it decimated the valley turning it into a lifeless place. Each side fought to gain an advantage however neither side was able to.

In order to try and gain the upper hand a sort of race begun. Each side began to build towers along the border which would generate a magic field, preventing Wizards from the opposing side from crossing that invisible barrier. Wizards would give their life up to the magic to create the towers. However it was a stalemate. Each side was able to place a tower that ran as far as anyone knew and whose magic even extended out into the sea itself (although not on forever, which is how some Sisters of the Dark are able to escape and head towards the New World).

There is one point, almost smack dab in the center of the Valley, where neither side was able to complete the barrier due to the towers of the other side preventing them. It is a small gap, just large enough for people to pass through. Only one with the Gift may pass through (a Sister or a Wizard) because they are able to see the roving magics generated by the Towers. The stronger you are with your magic (your H’an) the more magic from the towers will be drawn to you. Also, you may only pass through the valley twice so that is why different Sisters are sent to collect the boys at a young age. A sister uses up one of her crossings going from the Old World to the New World and then uses up her second crossing when coming back to the Palace of the Prophets.

What you don’t realize is that there is a treaty in affect between the Wizards and the Sisters of the Light. A Sister may ONLY take a boy to train him if there are NO other Wizards alive who are willing to train him. Richard was tricked into going to the Palace of the Prophets against this treaty for surely Zedd would have trained him (he IS his grandfather you know). It will be interesting to see whether or not Legend of the Seeker incorporates this into the plot because Zedd can have quite a temper when angered in the books and it would be fun to watch him burn the Palace of the Prophets down around the ears of the Sisters of Light!

NEWS: Seeker Saturdays Continue with “Dark” (S2E09)

You’ve worked hard all week, you’ve got the little one in bed or the older ones are at their friends or maybe you are just getting home from a round of golf (if you happen to be in warmer climates, I’m jealous, no really!) but guess what, it is now time for Seeker Saturdays with our latest new episode of Legend of the Seeker.

Today is that wonderful, magical, most looked forward to day of the week…. Ok, well maybe not really but it is a good day because today is the day that Jolene Blalock makes her debut on Legend of the Seeker. That’s right, Jolene is gonna be play the bad girl tonight, and next week as well, for her recurring role as Sister Nicci, a Sister of the Light/Dark. For those who haven’t read the books I’ll give you a little back story.

WARNING: POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD…. IF YOU DON’T REALLY WANT TO KNOW THEN DON’T READ ANY FURTHER!

Sisters of the Light serve the Creator (the all powerful being/force/entity/whatever-you-believe-in). They do this by hunting down… I mean… by “finding” new Wizards or people with The Gift and training them to use their magic. The way they are able to do this is by their own knowledge of magic. Essentially, they are Sorceresses except they cannot use their magic to the degree that a Wizard can. I suppose being “Teachers” gives them purpose, allows them to have really cool titles like “Sister of the Light” and live in a neato place called the Palace of the Prophets.

Sisters of the Dark are those who serve the Nameless One or The Keeper (the anti-powerful being/force/entity/whatever-you-believe-in). For lack of a better term we’ll call him the Devil. Now, Sisters of the Dark also serve themselves. They steal Wizard magic using a Quillion and then through a really weird, sort of sick and definitely WRONG ritual they absorb that power into themselves. I won’t go into the details of this ritual as the television show will never likely use it in their plot… yes, it is THAT bad… If you really want to know go and get “The Stone of Tears” book and read it. Nobody believes that the Sisters of the Dark actually exist because they are supposed to be a myth. After all, what Sister of the Light would willingly serve the Keeper?!?!? (Eye roll) They do exist and are amongst the Sisters of the Light in the Palace of the Prophets.

What you don’t know is where all these prophecies are coming from. Well, let me give you a hint. They call it the Palace of the Prophets for a reason! Somebody there knows a lot more about Richard than Richard knows about Richard. It will be interesting to see if Rami and crew incorporate that into the overall story line of the show.

Still, this week Richard is in the Palace of the Prophets, surrounded by women (some of them totally hot) who have powers he has only seen in Zedd, the boxes of Orden or Kahlan. Little does he know he has it within himself to surpass them all.

NEWS: Seeker Saturdays Continue with "Light" (S2E08)

Alright, we’ve been waiting all week and guess what? It is time for “Seeker Saturdays” (that’s what we’re gonna call this little segment here at LegendSeeker.net).

At least, where I live, it’s on Saturday evenings. Some of you might be getting Seeker Sundays instead.

This is just a friendly little reminder for you to tune in to Legend of the Seeker (check your local listings) for the episode Light.

There could be a lot of interesting plot twists developing starting at this point in the season. For those that don’t want to know anything about the episode before it airs then I suggest you stop reading now, set your PVR’s or get your popcorn, sit down and wait for it to come on. For those that don’t mind a little discussion or who have read the books then by all means, continue reading onward.

From the previews (see the featured video below) it looks like Richard is going to finally start to get the headaches meaning he has activated “the gift” (without the mud people being around) and lo-n-behold the Sisters of the Light make an appearance to offer him sage advice. It will be interesting to see if they cart him off to “train him” and whether or not they offer him the Three Reasons (as in the books).

For those that don’t know about the Three Reasons (or Three Chances) I will not spoil it for you until after the episode airs but let us just say that it starts to be a major turning point for Richard as well as Richard and Kahlan as a couple (at least in the books). It should also set things up nicely for the entrance of Sisters of the Dark and Jolene Blalock in next weeks episode titled “Dark”.

So, essentially Richard should start getting his Wizard groove on and that will prove to get him in all kinds of hot water. I am not sure what the “invisible cloak” or “security blankie” he is wearing in the preview is all about as I don’t remember it but I’m old and my memory isn’t what it once was.
